Statement from Doncaster Faiths Together and Doncaster Interfaith Network

Joint statement from Doncaster Faiths Together and Doncaster Interfaith Network to be read out at tomorrow’s Stand Up to UKIP demonstration.

Doncaster Faiths Together and Doncaster Interfaith Network respects and honours free speech and the democratic right to free speech. We stand together with those marginalized communities on the edge of society who face difficult times. We stand in solidarity with those who wish to bring communities together. We are not a party political organisation; our priority is the people of Doncaster regardless of their faith or no faith. We stand against those who use divisive rhetoric, we stand against those who wish to exploit the impact of austerity and of poverty on individual, family and community life for political gain.

Doncaster has always had a proud history of standing up for and being parts of movements that have stood for the vulnerable. DfT and Doncaster Interfaith Network stands with other voluntary, community and faith organisations in support of those who wish to listen, respond and act in a positive way to bring communities together.
